This week on C’est Même Pas Vrai!, I sat down with the incomparable Brandon Kroll for Part 2 of our Lukewarm Christianity series. If you missed Part 1 (Why Satan LOVES Lukewarm Christians: SET APART, Not Blending In), do yourself a favour and hit rewind.👇🏽
This is the sequel you didn’t know you needed, but trust me, the stakes are Infinity War-level here. In this episode, we peel back the layers on the counterfeit promises of the occult and its bold-faced lies that claim to offer VIP access to hell. Spoiler: It’s all a pyramid scheme—literally and spiritually.
The Devil Wears Prada… and Throws Diddy/Pizza Parties
Let’s talk about the biggest sales pitch of all time: the promise of glory, fame, and power in exchange for your soul. Whether it’s a slick Hollywood contract, the allure of secret societies, or just the modern obsession with “manifesting,” the devil is serving up lies on a silver platter, and he’s using pop culture to do it. Think Jay-Z and Beyoncé walking out of pyramids in music videos, or “Illuminati confirmed” Easter eggs in shows like Inside Job and The Simpsons. Is it revelation of the method, or just a long-running joke? Either way, it’s a distraction from the bigger truth. The enemy has a game plan, and it’s outlined in the Bible (John 10:10).
And while we’re on the subject of manipulation, if you loved our Rogue Thinkers series, you’ll know how deep this rabbit hole can go. From P. Diddy’s bizarre occult accusations to Demi Moore dabbling in “self-divinity” narratives, the patterns are as clear as a blue Québec chemtrail-free sky in cold February. Fait frette icitte!
Nephilim, Avatars, and Pyramid Schemes (Oh My! My! My!)
We dove headfirst into the theology of deception, touching on Genesis 6:4 and the Nephilim—fallen angels who supposedly mated with humans. It’s like something out of Avatar, except instead of living forever in a beautiful blue body, these Nephilim use humans as vessels. Yikes. That’s right, even the demonic is in on the “Uber for Souls” business model. And what do the celebrities get in return? Temporary fame, riches, and maybe a fancy spot on the Orion belt (if that were even to be the case), but they don’t even get to be the main characters in their own story. In good québécois : ils se sont fait pogné…
The Counterfeit Gospel of "Do What Thou Wilt"
From Eve in the garden to today’s “you do you boo” culture, the enemy’s sales pitch hasn’t changed: “Do you really need God? Why not become your own god?” This mentality—the core of Satanism’s infamous “Do What Thou Wilt”—is just as tempting now as it was in Eden. But here’s the kicker: it’s a counterfeit. For every earthly perk the occult offers, there’s a spiritual cost that outweighs the temporary gains. As John 3:36 reminds us, there’s no eternal life without submission to Christ.
Discernment: The Superpower of the Holy Spirit
New believers, take note: if you’re not spending time in the Word, you’re missing out on the tools needed to navigate this spiritual minefield. As Brandon put it, “How can you hear the Good Shepherd’s voice if you don’t know how He speaks?” (John 10:27). Reading the Bible isn’t just homework; it’s your lifeline in a world that’s constantly whispering lies.
Let’s Talk About Saints and Mary (looking at you Catholics…)
Time for a hot take: praying to saints or the Virgin Mary might be more than just unbiblical—it’s dangerously close to necromancy (Deuteronomy 18:10-12) and most definitely idolatry. Jesus himself said, “No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). He didn’t say, “Oh, and if I’m busy, check with Mom.” While saints are incredible examples of faith, they’re not intermediaries. That role belongs to Christ alone.
Pop Culture’s Sneaky Agenda
From The Chosen to Hunger Games, Hollywood has a knack for blending truth and fiction in ways that desensitize us to spiritual realities. Remember our Demi Moore episode? Her “finding herself” journey isn’t unique; it’s the same old self-divinity gospel repackaged for a new generation. The Bible warns us against this kind of deception. “Test the spirits to see whether they are from God” (1 John 4:1).
Confidence in the Chaos
Finally, we closed with a reminder that when you’re anchored in Christ, no storm can shake you. As 2 Corinthians 4:18 says, we’re not focused on the temporary but on the eternal. That’s the beauty of being on Team Jesus: the battle may be fierce, but we know how the story ends. We’re not just exposing darkness for the sake of it—we’re exposing it because we sit on the side of victory.
Takeaway
So what’s the cost of those VIP seats to hell? Your soul. And what does Christ offer in return? Eternal life, true freedom, and a place on the heavenly council (Revelation 3:21). The choice isn’t just clear—it’s life or death.
If you loved this conversation, share it with a friend, leave a review, or just shout it from the rooftops (ok, maybe not literally, mais t’as compris). And don’t forget to check out our other episodes for more deep dives into faith, culture, and the unseen battles shaping our world.
Stay blessed, fam, and remember: Christ’s light shines brightest in the darkest places. Until next time! ✝️
